FDG Brain PET Scan is an advanced imaging test used to evaluate brain function and detect abnormalities such as tumors, epilepsy, dementia, Alzheimer’s, or brain damage by analyzing glucose metabolism in the brain.
FDG Cardiac PET Scan is a specialized imaging test used to assess heart function, detect viable heart tissues, and evaluate myocardial infections or coronary artery disease (CAD) by measuring glucose metabolism in the heart.
PSMA stands for prostate-specific membrane antigen. It’s a protein found on the surface of prostate cancer cells. PSMA PET scans are used in the diagnosis and staging of prostate cancer.
Dotanoc, also known as Gallium-68-DOTA-NOC, is a radioactive tracer used to image neuroendocrine tumors. It’s used in conjunction with a positron emission tomography (PET) scan.
FDOPA (fluorodopa) is a radiotracer used in positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. It is used in the evaluation of a variety of conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, brain tumors, and neuroendocrine tumors.
F-18 Choline PET CT Scan at Neurad Diagnostic and Healthcare LLP is used for detection and monitoring of prostate cancer and other tumor assessments.
Triphasic CT angiography is a CT technique that uses contrast to visualize blood vessels in three phases (arterial, portal venous, and delayed) for a more comprehensive assessment of vascular structures.
FAPI PET CT uses a Fibroblast Activation Protein Inhibitor tracer that targets cancer-associated fibroblasts in the tumour microenvironment. It is used in the evaluation of a wide range of solid tumours, and can be particularly useful where FDG uptake is limited, such as in certain gastrointestinal, pancreatic, hepatobiliary and head-and-neck cancers. Performed under the supervision of our nuclear medicine specialists.
Exendin PET CT uses a Gallium-68 labelled peptide that binds to receptors which are overexpressed on insulinoma cells. It is used in the localisation of insulinomas and similar pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours, and is performed under the supervision of our nuclear medicine specialists.
Before your PET CT scan, our team will guide you through simple preparation steps, which usually include fasting for a few hours and avoiding strenuous activity. During the procedure, a small amount of radioactive tracer is administered, and you will rest quietly before the imaging begins. Our experienced radiologists and technologists ensure your comfort throughout, and detailed reports are prepared promptly so your treating doctor can plan the next steps with confidence.
You get written instructions for your specific study — usually fasting for a few hours and avoiding strenuous activity. Do not stop any prescribed medicine without asking us or your doctor.
A small amount of radioactive tracer is administered, and you rest quietly while it distributes in the body before imaging begins.
The scan itself is painless and typically takes between 20 and 40 minutes depending on the study. Plan for about 2–3 hours at the centre in total, including preparation and the rest period.
Detailed reports are prepared promptly and read by our nuclear medicine team, so your treating doctor can plan the next steps.
Most people have never had a PET scan before. These are the questions we are asked most often.
